Making
recruitment
accessible for you.
Applying to jobs online can be difficult and inaccessible for disabled people
ReCruit is a community-based website for disabled users to review recruitment processes on inclusivity and accessibility.
This includes people with all types of disabilities, including those who do not consider themselves to be disabled, have hidden disabilities and those who require reasonable adjustments.
A disability is any condition that makes it more difficult for a person to do certain activities or interact with the world around them. These conditions, or impairments, may be cognitive, developmental, intellectual, mental, physical, sensory, or a combination of multiple factors.*
Did you know:
- Out of 14 million disabled people in the UK, more than 7 million are of working age. However, less than half are employed**
- 1 in 30 people in the UK are blind or visually impaired***
- Around 15% of the population has dyslexia***
- 1.5 million people in the UK have a learning disability***
By hiring fewer disabled people, companies risk missing out on valuable insights, skills and experiences which could open new business opportunities.
